Skirmishes in the Dark : 23-03-2010

23rd March, in the year 2010, Paradigm Infinitum.
After being sick for a couple of days (really really sick, silly Vampire Disease), I got more or less well enough to go down to PI for Vtes again. I arrived pretty early since I'm still on MC, and soon get enough players to start game.
Game 1 Randomized Seating-
Jeff's Shatter the Gate Baali, bleeding
Ben Chia's Infernal Bleed, bleeding
My Cryptic Mission, bleeding
Peter's PRE weenie bleed, bleeding
Kenneth's Nosferatu.
This is one game that I had to fight both my prey and my predator really hard. Peter's PRE weenies is having a free reign against Kenneth, since the Nosferatu seems to be not drawing any wakes or defense or offense to do anything about the weenies, and did not at all hinder or prevent his own destruction to any success. Meanwhile, Jeff's Infernal minions is hampered by the fact that his main star, the Unnamed, did not hit the table, and the group of Hordes aren't doing much to deter his prey.
I, therefore, was fighting a two front war, with rescue mission thrown in for the fun. Given that, I think that my deck worked pretty well.
An early Antediluvian Awakening caused a lot of damage to everybody, but I had an early Vessel too, to slow down the damage. Aisling, Blythe and Dr Casey were there to help me attack my prey, ably supported by a Young Blood, since my predator brought out Cybele, followed by Pentaniqua, both with too much blood in their hands for me to Cryptic effectively.
An early Society of Leopold burnt Peter's Mariana early, followed by repeated Cryptic to mow down the number of his weenies. A Foul Blood sent another of his vampires to torpor, and Hungry Moon prevented him from gaining those blood back. But with almost no defense being put up, thanks to Anarch Troublemaker and Mind Numb, my aggressive attack couldn't stop Peter from getting his first VP. Meanwhile, I eventually ran out of Deflections and was bled to death by the Infernal Servitors and the Infernal Vampires, since Ben too, is free of much harassment from Jeff.
After which, severely weakened by my offense, Peter fell prey to the Infernal vampires, who then proceed to oust Jeff.
Final VP Count
Ben Chia - 4 VPs plus GW
Peter - 1 VP
Second Game's randomized seating -
Danz's Intercept deck, bleeding
Ben Chia's !Malkavian Sneak Bleed, bleeding
My Cryptic Mission, bleeding
Keith's Giovanni Spikethrowers.
Well, even though Danz proved in his earlier game that he doesn't kill ALL allies, this game proves that he will do his best to help my demise when I'm his ally~ :)
With a !Malkavian weenie stealth bleeder on top of me, I had no choice but to go backwards in order to survive. Danz did very little to help, bleeding for 1 or 2 per round and not blocking all the hunt actions that I've forced Ben to take. Meanwhile I had no idea what my prey was up to, Keith had Sennadurek sitting right there doing absolutely nothing (there was another Giovanni, but he too did nothing) except to look at everybody's hand when the Edge changed hands.
In the heat of that, my vampires, championed by Merill, supported by Jing Wei, Maddelena and Dr John Casey, went all out in Cryptic Missioning Ben's vampires. An early Society of Leopold again saved my skin, hitting one of Ben's weenie and after that, pretty much kept her out of the picture. A Hungry Moon then helped me survive one round when all of his vampires (except Morel) were forced to hunt. Well, Keith helped to remove 2 counters from the Hungry Moon, whatever his reason was...
With Impundulu and Thadious Zho on table, I managed to survive until Danz killed Ben, and much of those pool losses came from Ben paying for Midget's infernal fee (and then forced to hunt with my constant Cryptic Mission). Danz then came over and killed me, followed by a quick ousting of Keith.
Final VP Count
Danz owned the table!
