The Eternal Jyhad : I Remember

I remember.
I remember Chi Yong showing me the 3rd Edition starters, and telling me that slapping 2x !Malkavian Starters together makes a tournament worthy deck, cheapest possible CCG to start during that time. I remember committing my hard-earned income on those starters while cursing and swearing on what AEG had done to me with their multiple "reboots"
I remember how happy I was about Vtes that very day.
I remember bleeding very hard, and very well - myself included.
I remember the rush to find cards in eBay. I remember literally bleeding my wallet dry getting my first Entombment.
I remember pondering over all those Bloodlines, and my everlasting relationship with the Gargoyles.
I remember my Air Rock deck winning me my first tournament.
I remember sending many vampires to torpor, and seeing many of mine joining them.
I remember new Prince, new Players, new Havens, and most importantly, new cards.
I remember old Princes, Old Friends, Old places, and most importantly, old games.
I remember the first time I play my Succubus Club. I remember the first time Danz Social Ladder me as an ally.
I remember cursing Brainwash, I remember praising Consanguinous Boons. I remember contesting Carlton, and I remember yielding Powerbase Montreal.
I remember the happiness I get for opening tons and tons of booster packs. I remember painstakingly sorting my cards into alphabetical order, in my room, and in the pool.
I remember hiding Diabolic Lure from my wife, and giving Ascendences to my sons. I remember throwing demo games, and I remember sitting in them.
I remember reading the Player's Guide and highlighting important concepts. I remember writing blogs and editing lines. I remember copying deck lists, and downloading ARDB.
And I remember Bann's absurd ability to recall almost every card in Vtes. And my own ability to misread most of them - though it's handy at times.
I remember bleeding the preys (or even allies) I don't like, and I remember bloating allies (and sometimes prey) whom I like. I remember wowing Keith's 100million NEC decks, and teasing Ryans's answer to all problems - combat.
I remember BK's ever-bloating deck, and I remember the Magaji who didn't even let me look into my fridge for a snack.
I remember much of the laughter. I remember much of the fun.
I also remember that I'm still a Vtes player.
Eternally, perhaps not. But for a darn darn long time I'm sure.
